A feminicide every two weeks
Every two weeks, a feminicide is committed in Switzerland. This means that a woman or genderqueer person is murdered solely because of their perceived gender. Politicians, the justice system and the media trivialise these murders and protect the perpetrators. Preventive measures to stop feminicides are lacking.
Patriarchy
Behind the violence against women and genderqueer people lie systems such as patriarchy. Patriarchy is a social system in which cis men hold dominant power in politics, the economy and the family. This makes patriarchy a system of exploitation, oppression and violence. It is closely linked to other systems of oppression. Patriarchy, capitalism, imperialism and racism influence and reinforce one another. These systems can only be destroyed by connecting our struggles. That is why our feminist resistance is intersectional, revolutionary and anti-capitalist. That is why we say: No one is free until we are all free!
Nationwide demonstration
That is why we are calling for a nationwide demonstration against feminicides. Let’s take the streets of Zurich on 24 October 2026 at 4 pm, because we are furious that patriarchy takes people from us again and again!
